Patient-oriented research (POR) engages patients as partners in health research, answers questions that matter to patients, and aims to improve health outcomes.
The BC SUPPORT Unit Vancouver Island Centre aims to support patient-oriented health research across Vancouver Island.
Research teams are multidisciplinary and may include clinicians, academic researchers, allied health professionals, community organizations, healthcare decision-makers, and patients (including family members, formal and informal caregivers, or people with lived experience of a health condition).
